Should I Stay… or Is It Time to Go?
There are few questions that carry as much emotional weight as this one.
Whether it's a relationship, a career, a friendship, or even a version of yourself you've outgrown, the decision to stay or leave can feel overwhelming. We often search for someone to tell us what the "right" answer is, hoping certainty will quiet the uncertainty we carry.
But clarity rarely comes from someone else's answer.
It comes from asking ourselves better questions.
Sometimes we stay because we still see potential. Other times, we stay because we're afraid of what life might look like if we let go. Fear, comfort, loyalty, hope, and guilt can all sound remarkably similar when emotions are running high.
Before making a decision, consider taking a step back and asking yourself:
Am I staying because this situation is helping me grow, or because change feels uncomfortable?
Have I clearly communicated my needs and been honest about how I feel?
If nothing changed six months from now, would I be content with where I am?
Am I holding onto who this person—or situation—used to be instead of who or what it is today?
What would choosing myself look like in this moment?
These aren't easy questions, and they're not meant to be answered quickly. Some decisions deserve time, reflection, and thoughtful conversation.
The goal isn't to convince yourself to stay.
The goal isn't to convince yourself to leave.
The goal is to understand your situation clearly enough that whatever decision you make is one rooted in intention rather than fear.
Sometimes perspective changes the decision.
Sometimes it simply changes the way you carry it.
At Perspective™, we believe the most meaningful breakthroughs often begin with a single conversation. When life presents difficult choices, you don't have to navigate them alone. Creating space to reflect, ask better questions, and explore different viewpoints can bring clarity where uncertainty once existed.
Sometimes the next step isn't finding the answer. It's finding a new perspective.
